Calathea are the cousins of the Maranta Prayer Plant. At night, they fold their leaves up into a 'praying hands' position to preserve moister around the plant. During the day, they open them up to preform photosynthesis. A great plant for almost any space you're able to provide. Livingroom, office, bathroom. They do the best in semi-humid environments. 

Care Level: Beginner/Intermediate  
Watering: Water when about the top inch of soil is dry to the touch
Lighting: Medium-Bright indirect light
